COLO SPRGS, CO (Jan. 29, 2025) – The USA Shooting Men’s, Women’s and Junior’s National Trap Teams have been named, bringing the 2025 Trap Spring Selection Match in West Palm Beach to a close.

The following athletes have been named to the 2025 national teams:

Men’s Trap: Olympic gold medalist Glen Eller, Olympian William Hinton, Derek Haldeman, Logan Lucas, two-time Olympian Derrick Mein, and Olympic bronze medalist Brian Burrows

Women’s Trap: Olympian Rachel Tozier, Ava Downs, Carey Garrison, Aiko Bianca Coloso, Micaela Velasquez, and Loretta Christian

Junior Men’s Trap: Jackson Schroder, Kaleb Horinek, Ramsey Bodeen, Max Hatfield, and Ryan Brown

Junior Women’s Trap: Ava Downs, Carey Garrison, Micaela Velasquez, Taylor Dale, and Lucy Myers

The match took place Jan. 22-26 at the Palm Beach County Shooting Sports Complex, where over a hundred athletes from across the country competed in the hopes to make a team or earn a medal. Competitors shot a total of 250 targets in the qualification round where they aimed to shoot scores that would land them in the finals.

Finals were held for the top six competitors in the following categories: Men’s Trap, Women’s Trap, Junior Men’s Trap, Junior Women’s Trap, Senior Trap, and International Trap.

The athletes below medaled by finishing in the top three of their final:

Men’s Trap: Glen Eller, gold; Derek Haldeman, silver; Logan Lucas; bronze

Women’s Trap: Rachel Tozier, gold; Lucy Myers, silver; Loretta Christian, bronze

Junior Women’s Trap: Lucy Myers, gold; Carey Garrison, silver; Micaela Velasquez, bronze

Junior Men’s Trap: Kaleb Horinek, gold; Wyatt Shoaf, silver; Ramsey Boden, bronze

Senior Trap: Albert Fiori, gold; Eugenio Bortone, silver; Brad Scherer, bronze

International Trap: Pedro Gutierrez, gold; George Leary, silver; Esteban Caro, bronze

Medals were also awarded for the top three finishers in Men’s and Women’s under 18, under 15,  and collegiate categories. See all official results here.

A handful of athletes also competed in the Paralympic Trap category. Although Paralympic Trap is not currently on the program for the Paralympic Games, there is a possibility that the event will be added to the Los Angeles 2028 Games.
